I've been doing this for a year!

Well happy birthday to the blog! I have to say last February when I started writing this blog I didn't actually think I'd manage to get this far so I am thoroughly proud of myself for keeping up to date and posting almost once a week for a whole year.

Some months were better than others but I'll take 40 blog posts!

To celebrate I thought I'd share some of my favourites and some of your favourites from the year. Here's five of the most popular posts from the past year - in case you missed them!

The Four Main Styles of Lettering

Before we get into the lettering tutorials and helpful guides I wanted to give a quick rundown on the four main styles of lettering (or technically the four main styles of typography). Once you learn these then it should be easy going forward knowing what you want to create. Certain styles are better for some things, and some are better for other things.

3 Free (and not so free) Procreate Brush Recommendations

The main program I use to create my art is Procreate, and while the default brushes that come with app are fine to use I totally recommend getting some extra ones. I’ve compiled a list of some of my favourites, some are free and some do cost money but they’re not expensive at all.

Find Your Artistic Voice review

Find Your Artistic Voice was one of my favourite creative non fiction books from 2020! One of my markers on whether or not a creative advice type book is good or not is whether it makes me want to put it down and create. Is the author giving me enough inspiration and guidance that I actually want to stop reading and start pursuing a new project? The answer for this book is yes!

Bullet Journal Organisation: Tools

Technically, you can start bullet journaling with just any notebook and pen but that’s no fun! So, in case you want to add to your bujo tools, I’ve compiled all the things I use on a regular basis in my bullet journal.

5 Need to Know Procreate Tips and Tricks: Part One

I’ve been using Procreate for almost three years now and there are still some tricks that I come across wondering why I hadn’t discovered them before. So while this is aimed at beginners I recommend any Procreate user have a quick flick through just in case there’s something you’ve missed!

Here's to another year of blogging!! ✨✨
